Team Wellington Sign Versatile Defender

Team Wellington are pleased to announce the signing of versatile defender, Aaron Spain ahead of the 2019/20 ISPS Handa Premiership.

The 24-year old is Scott Hales first signing as the new Head Coach looks to challenge for honours in the upcoming season.

Hales believes Spain is a talented player that will fit in well to what he wants to achieve with the Wellington side on the pitch.

“Aaron has been involved in the National League set up for a number of years already so comes in as an experienced player, eager to work hard for success.

“Aaron’s physical and technical attributes alongside his tactical understanding of the game stands him in good stead to become a fan favourite here at Team Wellington.

“I’m looking forward to the working with someone of Aaron’s calibre and I’m confident he will come in to our environment seamlessly.”

Spain is grateful for the opportunity to join the club and is looking forward to the move to the Capital.

“It’s never easy to move away from a club you’ve spent a few seasons with but the opportunity for change, a new start and a new a challenge with Team Wellington was one not to be missed.

“What Scott is looking to continue at the club suits how I like to play and I’m really looking forward to getting to know the team and being in a new environment.”

When asked what spectators could expect from Spain, he said the answer was simple.

“I just really enjoy playing. It’s simple, I love to get up and down the flank and support my team however I can so we can be successful.”

Spain will join the Team Wellington set up in September.
